IHC’s Multicultural Team Blog

The Multicultural Committee at Integrative Health Consultants (IHC) is intended to be a resource for professionals at IHC to learn, grow, and help facilitate improvement of the practices at IHC in a multiculturally sensitive way. It additionally aspires to be a team that becomes a safe place for the greater community to struggle together with difficult issues pertaining to diversity in hopes of making our community a more equally inclusive one.

Purpose:

Help IHC employees and contracted clinicians become increasingly aware of multicultural issues and further develop cultural competency at IHC. Serve the community in an intentional way to build bridges and connect more with members of the surrounding communities for mental health needs.

Be a resource based team that IHC team members can approach with recommendations, questions, and struggles pertaining to marginalized populations, including race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation/gender, abilities, etc.

Be a task force improving environment of IHC to be an accessible and approachable practice to all populations. Address systemic factors that may exclude certain groups or individuals from providing and receiving mental health services.
